About
LogoMann is the "secret identity" of Karl Steinmann, a long-time advertising / marketing industry Creative Director, with over 20 years experience developing and implementing campaigns for the movie business, major corporations, small businesses and individual entrepreneurs.
I've been privileged to work on some of the most famous projects and biggest name brands in the world. You can see a cross-section of my Hollywood work at the companion site to this one, HollywoodWiz.Art, design and illustration has been my passion since childhood. I've literally been designing logos for clients since I was a teen, and in my years in "the biz" I've created hundreds of title treatments (for movies, video games, comic books and the like) and traditional logos for products as diverse as spas to toothbrush wrappers.
As I said in my audio intro on the home page, I love designing logos because it's a chance to encapsulate what a business or person is about in a single -- hopefully bold -- image. I think I'm pretty darn good at it (modesty clearly aside) and I hope you'll give me a chance to prove it to you on your logo design project.
These days, I'm chillin' near the beach in beautiful Ventura County, CA, about 60 miles and 90 minutes away from L.A.. I still get down into the city from time to time, but mostly I telecommute to Hollywood these days. Frankly, I don't like spending time on the freeway (I've paid my dues on that score) unless I absolutely have to, and who wants to leave paradise anyway?
Contact
Feel free to contact me for any reason. I particularly enjoy rave reviews and glowing compliments, but I'll grumblingly deal with criticism so long as it is constructive. Seriously, I'd love to hear from you.
Monday-Friday 1:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Pacific Time: "at the beach" on all major holidays.
These may look like banker's hours -- I'm only a banker's son, after all. However, banker's hours are a myth. I should know -- I saw my dad work really long and hard, even when the doors were closed to the public, and often well into the night. I guess you could say the workaholism runs in the family. And in case you're wondering, the so-called "banker's hours" were really so the bankers had some peace and quiet in which to handle business without being disturbed.
Oh yeah -- and to occasionally sneak out for a working game of golf.
Like them, I need to have some quiet time where the phone isn't ringing off the hook and I can THINK. As an unrepentantly driven guy, I usually get in the office much earlier than the posted time -- and stay much later. Golf, schmolf. It doesn't mean I will answer the phone, though, except during the posted hours.
I take most major holidays off -- including World Worker's Day, Beltane and the start of baseball season! Seriously, I try to take the big ones (not always possible) and even -- gasp -- slip away from time to time. The boss is a slave-driver, but he's not entirely inhumane.
Additionally, I tend to close down for the year around December 15th or so, and I don't come back until the first or second week of the new year, depending on travel arrangements, delays and extended hangovers (!). However, I do check my email, so please feel free to contact me during this time if you my services. I may be able to accommodate you, even on the road.
